Who we are

GetOdds operates getodds.us, an independent comparison service for online casinos available to players in the United States. The site is edited by Linda Barreiro and can be reached at [email protected]. This policy covers the website only; once you follow a link to a casino operator, that operator's privacy policy governs, not ours.

The short version

We do not require accounts, we do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell personal information, and the site works fully with all optional cookies refused. The data we handle is the minimum a published website can operate on: aggregate usage statistics and whatever you choose to send us by email.

What we collect, in detail

Analytics data. Aggregated, non-identifying information about how pages are used: page views, referring site, approximate region derived from IP address, device type and browser family. We use this to decide what to write next and which pages need updating. Analytics records are processed in aggregate — we do not build individual visitor profiles, and raw IP addresses are not retained beyond initial processing.

Correspondence. If you email us, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to deal with it. Reader reports about operator conduct may be retained longer in anonymised form, because they feed our review process — the report matters, the reporter's identity does not.

Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs (request path, timestamp, IP, user agent) for security and abuse prevention. These rotate automatically and are not used for profiling.

What we deliberately do not collect

No registration data, because there are no accounts. No payment data, because nothing is sold on this site. No gambling activity data, because your play happens at the operator, not here — we never see your deposits, wagers or winnings, and we would decline that data if a partner offered it. No precise location, no contact scraping, no cross-site tracking pixels from advertising networks.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site function, and analytics cookies to measure usage. Affiliate links may set a tracking cookie belonging to the operator so that a resulting signup is attributed to us — that cookie is the operator's, governed by their policy, and it identifies the referral source rather than your identity to us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; every page on this site continues to work.

Affiliate relationships and your data

Some outbound links to casino operators are affiliate links. If you register through one, the operator may pay us a commission. The operator does not tell us who you are: we receive aggregate referral statistics — counts and commission totals — never names, emails, deposit amounts or gambling behaviour. Commission arrangements never influence our rankings, which are decided by measured payout speed, licence status and bonus terms.

Third parties

Analytics processing and site hosting are handled by third-party providers acting on our instructions, under agreements restricting their use of the data to providing the service. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information with anyone, and no third party is permitted to use site data for its own marketing.

How long we keep it

Analytics data is retained in aggregate for 26 months, after which it is deleted or fully anonymised. Email correspondence is kept for up to 24 months after the last message in a thread, then deleted. Server logs rotate on the hosting provider's standard schedule, typically 30 to 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port the personal data we hold, and to object to processing. Given how little we hold, most requests resolve quickly: if you have never emailed us, we almost certainly hold nothing identifying you at all. To exercise any right, email [email protected] — we respond to verified requests within 30 days.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what is collected, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the statute, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the request channel above works for any CCPA inquiry regardless.

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah hold comparable rights under their state privacy acts, exercisable through the same contact address.

Security

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. We hold no account database and no payment data, which removes the most valuable attack targets entirely — the most sensitive thing our systems contain is an email inbox, which is protected by the mail provider's standard security controls including two-factor authentication.

Children

This site is intended for adults aged 18 or over — 21 or over where state law requires it — and gambling content is unsuitable for minors by definition. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has contacted us, email us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change, and the date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes — a new category of data collected, a new class of recipient — would be flagged on this page rather than slipped in silently. The absence of a change note means the practices described here are current.
